The Maids-of-Honor weekend

Marisa, Julia, and Brittany
This weekend, Brittany and Marisa came to Michigan to spend the weekend with Julia. (They were Julia's roommates at ONU.) Brittany is from Chicago and Marisa is from southern Indiana. It was so sweet of them to make the 5 hour trip to FlintTown. We had a wonderful time together!!

Saturday we spent the entire day shopping for 'bridesmaids' dresses. What fun! Finally, after 3 stops, they found just the perfect dress! Check. Bridesmaid's dresses done.

Third stop!Getting better! Yea! We found it! So hard to say goodbye!!
Julia is very blessed to have such special and dear friends! My thanks to them for all they
do for my girl, Julia!

Christmas 2009

Christmas at the Vargo's house was wonderful this year! We opened gifts Christmas Eve morning, and headed to KS Christmas Eve around 11:00pm. (We thought we'd get ahead of the predicted winter storm).
Hmmm...all was well until we reached Kansas early Christmas morning! Adam and Craig carefully (and slowly) drove us to Kay and Dean's house. We surprised them by arriving early... in time for a delicious prime rib lunch! We had a great time with family . . . enjoying each minute together!
Julia and her most favorite G-Dog!
My b-e-a-u-tiful sisters!! Love them! :)
Getting ready for Laci's baby shower!
What fun we had showering Baby Gianna into the family!!

Time spent with family is precious and dear! I'm grateful that we got to celebrate together in 2009!! Lots more fun to come in 2010!!

Christmas Party

What a hoot! We had our annual White Elephant Christmas party and the 'white elephants' topped all white elephants! The gifts ranged from an $800.00 painting to a bright orange pair of golf shorts! Who thinks of these things?!! We had a great time, laughing, eating, catching up, and of course, opening great prizes!!
PS...I'm still finding very special prizes throughout my house!!

Cheating - Proud of you??? WHAT???

Today, two students in my class were blatantly cheating on a timed test. Simple. Learn the multiplication facts and you're golden! After the incident, I spoke to my 'authority' regarding the situation - - fully expecting both children to receive after school detention.

Surprisingly, she didn't understand why I was upset with them ... "I should be PROUD of them!" "The boy had allowed the girl to copy from his test because he was being KIND to her. He understood she had trouble with the task and wanted to help her." (WHAT!!! Are you SERIOUS?!!!) Then she said, "I should be PROUD of her because she has become academically successful by learning ways to cope with her disability."

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?? When is wrong WRONG?? The last time I checked, kind people don't help you by cheating!

The day I become PROUD because someone CHEATS is the day I need to say good-by to education! Whatever...
